Grief, Loss, & Immigration

Supportive

What is Grief & Loss?

Grief and loss are natural emotional responses to losing someone or something significant. Grief can arise from the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a significant life transition, or even the loss of a sense of identity or home. It is a profoundly personal experience that can bring feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, or even relief. Grief does not follow a set timeline and can affect people in different ways—emotionally, physically, and mentally. Healing from loss involves processing emotions, finding support, and learning to navigate life in a new way while honoring what was lost.

What is Immigration Therapy?

Immigration therapy is a specialized form of mental health support that helps individuals and families navigate the emotional and psychological challenges associated with migration. It addresses issues such as trauma from displacement, acculturation stress, identity struggles, family separation, and legal anxieties. A culturally sensitive approach is used to provide support, build resilience, and help people adapt to new environments while honoring their cultural identities.
